Following her graduation, Emily began her job as a visual arts adjunct for Mercer County Community college in September of 2018. Many of her artworks fixate on the themes of time and mortality, resulting in structured as well as ephemeral works of art. She uses a multitude of approaches when creating a pieces such as found object, ready-made and working from scratch. There are no boundaries when using materials, but when creating work she specifically chooses her materials and imagery based on the context of the artwork being produced. Though conceptually based, Emily Buchalski finds it crucial to make her pieces visually straightforward and recognizable, allowing viewers outside of the artistic community to relate more closely.
