6th Officine Saffi Award in ceramics
Applications are now open for the 6th edition of the Officine Saffi Award, the international prize dedicated to the promotion of contemporary ceramics in the work of artists, designers, and craftspeople committed to this medium.
For its 6th edition, Officine Saffi Award invites the submission of works inspired by the theme ‘Forms of Belonging’. The aim of the Award is to stimulate the creation of fruitful links between subject areas, practices, geographical settings and generations, presenting the most recent and innovative research.
Finalists for the competition will be presented in the exhibition Officine Saffi Award 6 – Forms of Belonging, in Milan, Italy, in September 2026.
Eligibility
Participation in the competition is open to creators, artists, designers and artisans over 18 years of age who choose ceramics as their main medium of expression, without any constraints of professional qualification and applying as individuals or as part of a collective. The Award encourages the participation of candidates from any geographical area of the world.
Awards
- Main Prize of 10,000 EUR and his/her work will become part of the Foundation’s collection.
- Young Artists acquisition Prize of 4,000 EUR for artists under 35
- Residency at Albuquerque Foundation (Portugal) for 6 weeks: with accommodation; access to the workshop; a production budget of 1,000 EUR (materials and firings); and an additional residency budget of 500 EUR.
- Residency at Bruckner Foundation Ceramic Centre (Switzerland) for 8 weeks: with accommodation; access to the workshop; firings; a residency budget of 2,000 CHF.
- Residency at Fondazione Museo Ceramica Savona (Italy) for 5 weeks: with access to the laboratories; apartment accommodation; a residency budget of 1,200 EUR; coverage of production costs for materials, firings, and research up to 900 EUR; insurance coverage for the artist during the residency.
- Residency at Guldagergaard (Denmark) for 6 weeks: with accommodation; access to the workshop; materials; firings; and a residency budget of 10,000 DKK; open studio or exhibition event.
- Residency at Senter for Keramisk Kunst (Norway) for 8 weeks: with accommodation; access to the workshop; materials and firings up to a value of 30,000 NOK; and a residency budget of 10,000 NOK; open studio or exhibition event.
- The development of a special project with Fondazione Officine Saffi (Italy): this could be an exhibition, a residency, a performance or an open to public event to be produced by the end of 2028.
