Fully funded art residency for international Phd students ‘URRA Residency’

The residency program instituted by the Museo Nacional del Prado in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Madrid, offers one-month residency scholarships for doctorates and PhD students of art history.

The program, named after the distinguished art historian and professor Martin Warnke (1937-2019), a scholar of the work of authors present in the Prado collections such as Rubens, Velázquez and Goya, facilitates short study stays for academics and researchers with habitual residence in a country of the European Union.

Application Deadline: May 15, 2025

Decision by: June 15, 2025

Residency Period: September 8 to November 28, 2025

The selected scholar will receive a place to work at the Centro de Estudios of the Museo del Prado.

During the one-month stay, the selected researcher will be able to live free of charge in a flat provided by the Goethe-Institut Madrid, where they will also have access to a study room in case they need additional space to work.
