Art residency in Australia, all that we are program
All that we are offers creative space for self-directed residencies in an extraordinary house overlooking tidal waters. Artists from all disciplines come to all that we are to create and reflect on their work. The property is in a place of great beauty and within driving of some of the remaining wilderness in the world. In the property you feel close to the natural world and in a place of reflection, peace and connection. The property has multiple creative spaces including a library, studios and 5 acres of land. We are programming for the first half of 2022 – the border restrictions have been lifted and January to June is the best weather of the year in Tasmania. The hosts, Simon and Victoria, offer support when required but also know how to stay out of your way. They can offer specific coaching in reflective practice and leadership, particularly in community-engaged practice.
Duration of residency
Min 1 week and maximum 4 weeks. However we are very flexible and try to cater to the needs of artists to accomodate their travel plans.
Accommodation
In the main residence there are 2 separate large bedrooms, each with bed and desk, in an independent wing of the house. This wing also has a bathroom, kitchen and access to various outdoor decks.
Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
All disciplines can apply. We provide wifi and some tech support with various AV equipment available for artists’ use. There is a piano in the studio, a library and an independent painting studio.
Studio / Workspace
In the main residence there is a large library, suitable for writing and reading, and also a parquet floored studio space, with wonderful views and natural light, suitable for table-based work. There is also a completely self contained 72sq m live/work space with painting studio about 100 metres from the main residence.
Fees and support
We offer reasonable rates for residencies and can supply support letters for grant organisations if required. We do not recieve public funding to support the residency program and charge between AU$500 – 700 per week depending on length of stay.
Expectations towards the artist
There are no expectations on the artist other than to be a good houseguest.
