The SILENT MANGA AUDITION® (SMA) is the biggest international manga audition in the world. Created in 2012 by COAMIX Inc., a manga publisher founded by manga legends such as Tetsuo Hara and Tsukasa Hojo, SMA is a manga audition exclusively for manga without dialogue. In this way, creators of all ages from any country can break through language barriers and share their love of manga.
SMA is not just a manga audition: it’s a gateway into the Japanese manga world for international creators. SMA aims to discover, nurture, and allow the next generation of international manga creators to debut in Japan through exclusive opportunities such as the MasterClass and Artists Village Aso 096k projects.
