ICON exhibition in london call for artists
What makes an icon? How do we make ourselves and our work known?
While most of the time artists are focusing just on the actual work we should not forget how important is the artist itself.
If we take Pablo Picasso as an example one can realise how much he was working on his own image and how this impacted his famous legacy.
The purpose of this exhibition is to inspire future icons.
This Exhibition Will Take Place At Our Newly Opened Space In Tower Bridge LONDON.
The new space is located in Tower bridge, one of most iconic places in the world and the most visited place in the whole UK.
The new space is nestled between modern and classic London icons: The Shard 4 minutes away, Tower Bridge 1 minute away, London Bridge 2 minutes away.
With a blend of traditional Victorian brick walls and a central private bar just for our audience, the space is unique in the whole city of London. The pictures below are from our previous opening “Contemporary” where we had over 300 people at the opening.
Submission Guidelines- Please read carefully.

Alternatives.
We had a lot of enquires from foreign artists to exhibit with us but sometimes shipping the work to London in time might be a bit difficult in this challenging period, that’s why we’ve come up with an alternative! If you are one of the accepted artist and you find it hard to ship your work to us, you can send us photos of your work and we can print and frame it for you at no additional cost.
We have 3 available sizes for the frame:
1. 32/32 cm
2. 30/40 cm
3. 40/50 cm
Event.
This will be a physical event and it will take place in our new gallery space in Tower Bridge- London (the one from the picture above).
Important.
As we run multiple open calls, please make sure you include in the email line the open call you apply for.
Project Gallery V welcomes submissions from aspiring collaborators to show or curate their artwork.
PGV hosts four seasonal shows a year, each with a guest juror who selects artist’s work exclusively from the open call.
We are currently accepting submissions for our Autumn 2021 online exhibition curated by Adam Liam Rose, co-director of Ortega Y Gasset, Brooklyn, NY.
Adam Liam Rose (b. 1990) is an interdisciplinary artist working across sculpture, installation, video and drawing. Born in Jerusalem and raised mostly in the United States, his works investigate the aesthetic systems of power embedded within architecture. Rose draws inspiration from the politics of “safety” within Israel/Palestine and the United States, often looking to structures of separation and control whose intentions either manifest outright, or slither beneath the surface.
Rose was a fellow at the Bronx Museum of the Arts’ AIM Program, The Drawing Center’s Viewing Program, and the Art & Law Program. He was awarded artist residencies at Triangle Arts Association (Brooklyn, NY), Bemis Center for Contemporary Art (Omaha, NE), Ox-Bow School of Art (Saugatuck, MI), A-Z West: Institute of Investigative Living (Joshua Tree, CA), the Vermont Studio Center (Johnson, VT) and the Chicago Artists Coalition’s HATCH Residency (Chicago, IL). Rose’s publication ‘Between the Bars’ (Genderfail Press, 2021) is in the artists’ book collection of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, PRATT Institute and The Frick Fine Arts Library in Pittsburgh. He received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (’12) and an MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts (‘17). Rose joined as co-director at the artist-run gallery Ortega y Gasset Projects in 2019.
He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY
The title of the show will emerge via accepted works. Artists will be notified of acceptance by June 8th via email. All submissions will be considered for the summer exhibition and for our Instagram Friday highlights.
- The online exhibition will run from September 15 to October 15, 2021
- PGV takes a 20% commission from sold works

Details
The Aesthetica Art Prize is an annual award organised by Aesthetica, an international art and culture magazine.
“ The Art Prize is open to works in any genre, and on any theme, however, we are particularly interested in works that reflect upon our ever changing world.
Previous exhibitions have posed larger questions about what it means to exist in a digitised, post-industrial landscape, as well as the effects of over-consumption, media stimulation, globalisation, and the climate crisis. We are looking for pieces that challenge us – that redefine the parameters of contemporary art and compel audiences to connect with one another.
Works previously exhibited and published elsewhere are accepted.
There are two Prizes:
• The Emerging Art Prize open to current students and artists who have graduated within the last two years.
• The Main Prize open to all practitioners working at any level, including students and graduates.
