Artist Residency Programme in Osaka and Jakarta World Expo 2025
The ASEAN Artist Residency Programme offers a unique opportunity for artists to develop their practice and gain exposure to new ideas and cultures. The
programme will take place in Osaka, Japan to supplement ASEAN’s participation in the World Expo 2025.
The selected artist will be assigned a space in the ASEAN Pavilion to produce one piece of artwork that will be presented to the ASEAN Secretariat based in
Jakarta, Indonesia at the end of his/her one-month residency. The artist is also expected to lead various activities and participate in relevant art events where
appropriate.
The said artwork shall aim to communicate ASEAN identity through visual arts and deepen understanding as well as appreciation of the enriched artistic
heritage of the Southeast Asian region. Application for this edition of the programme will be open to citizens of Lao PDR and is free of charge. Participation will be fully funded.
Support
- Round trips to Osaka and Jakarta;
- Accommodation and allowance for 30 days;
- Material and production stipends;
- Workspace at the ASEAN Pavilion.
- Artwork presentation at the ASEAN Gallery; and
- Visibility through social media activities.
