Art residency in Island at oldschool Art House.
Hrísey, the island, is by the north coast of Iceland, short from the arctic circle. The island is surrounded with a breath taking view of the mountains on the coast of Eyjafjordur and the atmosphere will put you back in time of peace and wonderful nature. Perfect inspiration for artists.
Duration of residency
Minimum 1 month.
Accommodation
The residency has 4 separate private rooms. Therefore, 4 different artists can stay there each month. This includes a sitting room and kitchen.Toilet and shower. (Hot spring water from the island, you can take long showers)Bed linen included.

All disciplines are supported.
Studio / Workspace
There is one shared studio.
Fees and support
(One room for one month with studio) Room 1 – 550 EURRoom 2 – 550 EURRoom 3 – 600 EURRoom 4 – 500 EUR40% extra for each extra person.
Expectations towards the artist
No obligations but at the end of the month, each artist has the possibility to put up an exhibition.
Application information
As of 2012 there is an ongoing “Open call” for applications for Old school artist residency and we welcome last minute applications. Application should include a complete application form, resumé or CV and samples of works.Application form available on our webpage.
A panel of professional artists review the applications shortly after the receipt. Applicants are notified of the committee´s decisions within 1 week.
