Art grant offered by British Council Climate Futures for artists from South Asia 2025

Are you an artist or cultural organisation looking to take action around climate change?

Climate Futures: South Asia will support climate action in the creative industries. The new programme is supporting the arts sector through grants, mentorship, research, and knowledge exchanges between the UK and South Asia. The programme will support artists and cultural organisations to develop impactful responses to the climate emergency.

Our goal is to empower the arts community to contribute to climate action and sustainability through innovative and impactful projects.

We are offering grants of £15,000 to artists and cultural organisations seeking to develop projects that address the climate emergency. Our grant will support the creation of artistic responses to climate issues and encourage the integration of sustainable practices within cultural operations.

This may include projects that:

  • support artist-led initiatives that promote knowledge creation and sustainability in the cultural sector,
  • design and implement a sustainability strategy or process for your organisation including capacity building initiatives and,
  • optimise infrastructure to enhance climate change awareness and sustainable approaches within the arts sector.

Successful grantees will receive mentorship throughout their project from leading UK specialists.

Project proposals should have a timeline ending no later than 31 January 2026.

The project offers grants of 15,000 GBP to artists and cultural organisations seeking to develop projects that address the climate emergency.
