Greater Mekong Subregion Artist Residency Thailand 2026
The Office of Contemporary Art and Culture is calling for applications from visual artists from the Greater Mekong Subregion for the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Artist Residency from 1 July to 14 August 2026 in the Nakhon Phanom Province (Thailand).
The programme, under the Mekong River Basin Contemporary Art Festival Project, aims to enhance collaboration between artists and cultural organisations in the contemporary art field from the Greater Mekong Subregion, as well as to foster cultural diplomacy through artistic works. Six artists will be selected to participate.
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be an artist in the field of visual arts (without restriction on medium) with at least three years of professional experience working as an artist.
- Hold nationality of, OR currently live and work in, the Greater Mekong Subregion (Myanmar, Thailand, Lao PDR, Viet Nam, or China) for at least two years.
- Be between 25 and 45 years of age.
- Have good proficiency in Thai or English.
- Have not been selected to participate in the GMS Artist under the Mekong River Basin Contemporary Art Festival Project for the fiscal years 2567 – 2568 B.E. (2024–2025 C.E.).

- Round-trip travel from the selected artists’ places of residence within the Greater Mekong Subregion to Nakhon Phanom Province, Thailand
- Accommodation
- A per diem
- Local transportation in Nakhon Phanom for the duration of the programme
- The visa application fee (if applicable).
- An artist’s fee of 30,000 THB
- A production fee up to 60,000 THB
