The 2024-25 Maitri Grant Program has been expanded with a total of $5 million available to support projects that will strengthen the Australia-India relationship in new and innovative ways across a number of sectors.
The grant program supports projects across the Centre’s four key pillars:
- catalyst for business
- promoting public discourse
- engaging our Indian diaspora communities to support the bilateral relationship
- cultural connections and exchange
Through this program, we encourage innovative projects and partnerships that reflect the dynamism of the bilateral relationship, fostering life-long connections in trade, education, innovation, research, arts, and culture.

APPLICATION PROCESS
The below dates are indicative only and subject to change.
- 25 September 2024: Applications open.
- 04 November 2024: Deadline for submission of concept notes at 5:00pm AEDT.
- December 2024/January 2025: Successful proposals are selected and proceed to due diligence and contracting.
- April 2025: Implementation begins.
The level of funding requested under the Centre’s grants can range between 50,000 AUD and 2,000,000 AUD.
