City of Light Jyväskylä – Light Art Residency

City of Light Jyväskylä invites two light artists to visit our city during September 2024.

During the residency month (2.-30.9.2024), artists will have time to get to know the city, join our local cultural network and choose a site that inspires them. Annual light festival takes place at the end of September, and artists will provide site spesific light artwork for the festival (one each).

City of Light team will choose one participant from Finland and one from abroad.

Free accomodation will be provided for both artists and max. 3000 euros for materials, rental luminaires and other needed equipment to build the artwork. Artwork is site specific, and will not be transported elsewhere after the festival (if not otherwise negotiated).

Application period is 3.2.-17.3.2024. Applications sent after deadline, as well as incorrectly filled forms will be disregarded.

We will be in contact with all applicants by the end of May 2024. City of Jyväskylä reserves right not to choose any participants.
