Artist interview:

When it comes to your art, explain what you do in 100 words?

My art seeks to show how absolutely beautiful the world is under perpetual sunny skies. I am conscious of the beauty, generosity and innocence of nature, especially as it relates to animals. My world is full of life and activity. Here, there are animals ploughing the earth and there you see them picking fruits and vegetables.. I  infact do not belong to any particular school. My style is a combination of primitive art and fantasy.

What project are you working on now?

Lately, I have been inspired by the plight of animals on our planet, given the sad condition of the global environment, Particularly in relation to how humans are taking over animal spaces and making it more and more difficult for them in survive in hotter climates with shrinking space.

For this reason, I have been working on celebrating the animals of the world, whether real or mythical. I have been depicting them as free and happy in a better world.

Which place in the world do you find to be the most inspiring?

I believe Islamic art is the most inspiring since it involves much detail particularly with the geometric patterns. It is infact very detail oriented. Also being from the the area of the world that is the cradle of islam and Christianity I am bound to be inspired by painting churches and mosques together and alone .

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

My best piece of advise is first have a unique style and second of all be optimistic and happy in your art since these days life has become difficult through out the world.

Do you make a living off of your art?

No I don’t, it is very difficult these days to live on ones art with all the turbulences throughout the world including the Ukraine crises in general and the Middleeast conflict in particular .

How has your practice changed over time?

Though I have evolved in my art from villages and cities with peoples in theme to animal paintings I believe I still have the same style and perception,The colors details and optimism is all there.
