Fully funded Art residency in Germany, Künstlerhäuser Worpswede program

Künstlerhäuser Worpswede invites applications for four Quarter Fellowships for 2021 on the theme of the Scholarship Site of the Future.

At Worpswede, a place steeped in tradition, we want to initiate a process that will involve asking questions about the future of art production: The conditions for a future-oriented, sustainable scholarship site are to be explored. In particular, we want to consider where and how art can be created, what funding conditions are needed for this, and what social relevance protective spaces have and need for artistic production.

We are looking for projects with hybrid approaches. We value experimental modes of expression and formats that transcend conventional disciplinary boundaries.

Artist duos and working collectives are welcome, as are partners and joint children (with additional payment of incidental costs).

The artistic direction of the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede accompanies the process and initiates meetings between the fellows, promotes exchange and dialogue about the results and experiences, and organizes a public presentation of the work at the end of the year in Worpswede.

What do the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede offer:
o A (rent & utilities free) living and working studio of about 35 sqm plus a separate bedroom as well as basic equipment (kitchenette, private bathroom with toilet).
o Living cost support of Euro 1.000 per month (sponsored by the Karin & Uwe Hollweg Foundation)
o Quiet and inspiring working atmosphere on the edge of the Teufelsmoor in the historic artists’ village of Worpswede
